Florida: St. Augustine

After Scott, Penny, and I spent the day at Crescent Beach a couple weekends ago, we headed to St. Augustine, which was about 25 minutes away. I really had no expectations for St. Augustine, not having really heard of it previously, but I fell in love with it.

St. Augustine is considered the oldest city in America and began as a Spanish settlement. It has retained its Spanish colonial architecture, so you can see why I love it. It was reminiscent of being somewhere in Europe with its fort and wrought-iron guard rails, fences, and gates.

The weather was beautiful, so there were a ton of people wandering around the tiny streets like us. Many were on vacation, and damn near everyone wanted to meet Penny. I felt like I was walking around with a celebrity, with everyone stopping us, pointing her out to each other, and asking questions about her.

Here's a look at our beautiful evening in St. Augustine!
