The Packing List: Summer Beauty Products

OK, so it might be a cold-ass week here on the East Coast, but Memorial Day is a mere three weeks away, and if you're like Staci, you've already started the season early and done some summer traveling. In order to prepare now, here are the items you need in your summer travel carry-on bag!

1. Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Dry Shampoo, Ulta $5.99

This has been a staple in my bathroom cabinet ever since Birchbox sent it to me a few years ago. It's lightweight but mighty. Fair warning: it'll give your hair a ton of volume, so if you have a jewfro like Staci, and you're looking to tamp down your humidity-enhanced hair, this might not be for you.

2. Wilma Schumann Skincare Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads, Birchbox $18

Late-night drive back from the beach house? No worries! Just pop these babies under your eyes the next morning, and no one will know.

3. Amika Nourishing Mask, Birchbox $12

Summer means clogged pores. Whether it's from sweat, suntan lotion, or both, this face mask will keep your skin looking as fresh as possible.

4. PARLOR® by Jeff Chastain Touchable Curl Cream, Birchbox $24

Sometimes in the summer, you just gotta lean into the jewfro and let those curls fly. I love this cream because it's light and not sticky at all. It's basically perfect for those sweaty days when your hair is going to do whatever it wants no matter what you do.

5. R+Co ROCKAWAY Salt Spray, Birchbox $25

Birchbox has been sending me R+Co products for the last few months, and I'm obsessed with them all. Their texturing products are especially great, so I can't wait to try out the sea salt spray! Bonus: You'll smell great.

6. Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen with SPF, Sephora $24

Once your lips get sunburned, you'll never forget to protect them again. This super moisturizing, lightweight, low-color lip balm is the way to go for days spent out in the sun.

7. Butter Hand Cream in Lavender Rose, Sabon $16

After a day at the beach exfoliating in the sand (or a week after a sunburn when your skin is peeling), you'll want to moisturize. This hand cream from Sabon feels and smells great.

8. Mini Gelish polish in Tiger Blossom, Sally Hansen $12.99

Staci and I always like to invest in a pro gel manicure before a long trip so we don't have to worry about nails chipping or breaking while we're away. But a long weekend at the beach isn't really worth the $$$, though it's equally hard on your nails. This at-home gel nail polish in a summer-ready red is a low-cost way to keep the mani and forget about it while you lounge in the sun.

What's in your summer bag?
