Packing List: Canadian Rockies (The Extras)

Now that I’ve got the clothing covered for our trip to the Canadian Rockies, I’m focused on the must-haves for the rest of the trip.

What are those you may ask? Well here’s a hint:

No thanks!

That’s right — this trip requires bear spray. Our hikes will likely take us near local wildlife including bears, elk, big-horned sheep, and more. Not just that, but because we’re aiming to catch a bunch of sunrises, we’ll be in the dark for some of the hikes. Am I scared? Yes. Am I excited? Also yes!

Here are the other must-have, non-clothing items I’ll be packing:

Since we’re not full-on camping, we won’t need any heavy duty hiking stuffs. At the most, we’ll be doing 2- to 3-hour excursions in a loop and then driving to another location. That said, 2 to 3 hours is more than enough time to see a bear, so keep me in your thoughts.
