NYC: Socially Distant Bike Rides Part 1 - Brooklyn Bridge Park

This summer has been…different. No matter where you live, the pandemic has affected your summer routine in some way. For me, that was mostly where I work, where I exercise, and where I eat. All three of those activities now occur exclusively in my tiny Brooklyn apartment. Because my friends and I are so used to running and brunching together on weekends, we had to find a new and safe way to work out while seeing one another. Thankfully, we all have bikes!

Biking is a super safe option to get in a workout, while getting out of your tiny-ass apartment and seeing friends. Lately, my friends and I have taken to riding to a few places including DUMBO, Coney Island, Red Hook, and Prospect Park.

The ride to Brooklyn Bridge Park is one of my favorites, because for a lot of the ride, there’s a ton of great street art.

Once you arrive at the park, there are so many piers and fields where you can safely set up a socially distant picnic with friends and not be anywhere near another group of people. Plus, you can take in the sites of the Manhattan skyline (a place I haven’t been since March!). Check out a few snaps from recent rides to DUMBO.
