NYC: Jacob Riis Beach

Besides eating a ton of food and taking silly pictures, we also managed to fit in a trip to the beach while my friend Cat was in town.

Though the skies vacillated between overcast and sunny, and the ocean was full of foam and sharks, we managed to get in a few hours of decent weather and what else, more food!

Since the weather was on the shitty side in the am, no one else in the New York area thought it was a beach day.

Lucky for us!

We practically had the entire beach to ourselves for the entire day.

Though we usually make our way to Fort Tilden or Long Beach, this time we opted for Jacob Riis -- a less crowded (and blissfully less hipster-filled) stretch of sand. They also have an awesome food stall setup and bar right on the sidewalk.

Now that I have a car, it's easier to get to than ever! No more waiting for hours and not being able to board the ferry(!).

We also wanted to check out the new exhibit a few miles down the beach in an abandoned warehouse, but we ran out of time. Next trip, for sure!

Though the beach day was short-lived, it got me stoked for this weekend in Rehoboth!
