The Menu: La Giostra

When making one of my epic planning spreadsheets for my trip to Italy last year, there was one restaurant that nearly everyone I talked to recommended: La Giostra. These were people who either spent a ton of time in Florence during studying abroad like Staci, passed through the city, or had heard from a friend of a friend about the well-known Florentine dining destination.

This was the only place in the entire trip that we made a reservation for before we even left the States. Boy, am I glad we did! Even a few weeks prior to the trip, the restaurant was almost fully booked at all hours every day. Luckily, we scored a 9:30 p.m. spot during our second night in Florence. Even though we were exhausted from a full day of eating (hey, no judgments!), we managed to stay awake long enough to enjoy a full four-course meal including complimentary champagne and a bowl of the most amazing creamy burrata that this bitch has ever had

It was truly love at first sight

From the moment that we entered the cozy and romantic space, I knew we'd be in for a treat.

I mean...

The twinkle lights along the ceiling and pictures of celebrities with the chef covering literally every inch of wall gave the space an intimate and down-home feel, even though I knew the menu vibe was sorta fancy.

Note our delightful champagne flutes.

The famed pear ravioli did not disappoint, and the aforementioned burrata was a true highlight. If you're planning on eating a nice meal in Florence (and really, why wouldn't you be?) GO TO LA GIOSTRA! Trust me and literally everyone else who's ever been there. I mean, just look at this food!

Even our walk home was utterly charming because duh -- Florence.

Take me back!
