Baltimore: Sole of Light City

This past weekend, I headed down to my hometown of Baltimore to watch my parents and friends run Sole of the City. You may recall that last year I ran the very same race with great success. This year I was injured, so I was relegated to the sidelines. I have to say, it was still a blast. The weather was damn near perfect and the vibe was awesome, as usual.

Plus, my friend Amanda made this kickass sign:

I mean...

My sign wasn't nearly as fun, but it still got a few shoutouts from runners on the course. The race was also a great chance for a mini college reunion with friends from NYC and Baltimore. Staci ran too, but she was so fast, that my iPhone only captured her running past me(!).

[Note from Staci: LOL "fast."]

Here are some of my photos from cheering and some of Staci's on the course.

Later that night, we met up again for Light City.

Reunited and it feels so good.

It was just as good as I remembered it being last year. With the weather being perfect, almost every person in the vicinity of Baltimore was out and about, so it was tough to see some of the installations. My parents and I didn't get to make it around the entire event because SOME people just had to run 6.2 miles at 8 a.m. that morning. Oh well -- still a great showing. Staci and friends stuck around a bit longer and sent photos my way.
