Washington D.C.: Old Town Alexandria

This past weekend, in honor of gorgeous weather, my family and I made an impromptu day trip to Old Town Alexandra, right outside of Washington, D.C. Despite the typical clusterfuck that generally comes with transporting yourself anywhere in or around D.C., it was worth the 90-minute ride from Baltimore.

The historic streets are quaint and charming, and the waterfront area is gorgeous as waterfronts tend to be. You can take a monument cruise on the Potomac River, take the water taxi to D.C. or National Harbor, or take the free King Street trolley up and down Alexandria itself. Every other storefront seems to sell ice cream, and while the art in the Torpedo Factory wasn't exactly my style, you know we love a good public art space. And to cap off the day, the seafood at Blackwall Hitch was awesome, and I loved the interior (as you can see by the amount of photos I took of it).

Take a look around Old Town Alexandria!
