The Playlist: Jen's NYC Half Jams

In a couple of weeks, Staci and I will once again be running 13.1 miles through the streets of New York City (followed immediately by 3,000 calories worth of brunch).

Last year's epic view during Mile 7.

Weirdly my training runs this time around have either been full of podcasts or face-to-face conversation with my fellow running buddies, so I don't have my normal set playlist ready to go for race day.

But I do plan to run with music (as I always do) during the race. So I've created a playlist filled with hours of pop songs, 90s rap, and songs you forgot existed.

I'd like to point out a few of my faves including 99 Problems and I Want You Back that have made an appearance on every single race day playlist. Also note Want to Want Me, a Jason Derulo classic that makes me giggle every time the song starts and he whispers his name. The first few songs are just to get my head in the game while we wait in the corrals. And don't worry -- I don't plan to run anywhere near three-plus hours. I like to make last-minute changes while I'm running, so I like to have as many song options at my disposal as possible.

If you're in NYC March 19, we'd love to see you along the route! We'll be starting around 8:30 a.m. and cruising through Times Square an hour or so later.

This could be you.
