Florida: #TBT Gainesville

It may seem like all I did in Gainesville last weekend was eat, and while that's partially true, it turns out there's more to Gainesville than just good food! Although the downtown area was dead Saturday due to their one day of winter (gray skies, 50-degree temps...pssh, softies), Scott and I spent the day poking around into some of the small, independent shops (somewhat food-related since we started with a visit to a wine and cheese shop selling some of the best cheese I've had in a while).

I can definitely see the appeal of University of Florida if I imagine sunny skies and warmer weather. The corners are filled with street art, all of the restaurants and cafes have cute outdoor spaces, and nature isn't far. True, I'm a city girl and the outdoors have never really been my thing, but it was a nice change of scenery from my usual city streets to get in a run Sunday on the La Chua Trail through Prairie State Preserve ending with a look around at some birds, gators, and wild horses.

Here's a throwback look at last weekend in Florida!
