The Menu: Dine In Brooklyn

Manhattan may have restaurant week, but the soon-to-be third largest city in the States (even though it's technically a borough) has its very own week of prix fix menus called Dine in Brooklyn. Compared to Manhattan's prix fix of $29 lunches and $42 dinners, Brooklyn is practically a steal at nearly half the cost per meal ($15 lunch, $28 dinner).

Although I pride myself in having explored much of what my neighborhood has to offer, in reality I've barely scratched the surface. I might as well take advantage of amazing prices to explore some good eats all around Brooklyn. Here's what I plan to check out!

Prawn Shop

Voted best new restaurant by Park Slope Stoop readers, this seafood spot offers up all kinds of delightful fare from mussels to crabs to, you guessed it, prawns.

The name alone sold me, but the reviews for this new restaurant have me convinced that this will be a hotspot very soon. With menu items like crawfish hushpuppies, lemonade buttermilk fried chicken and biscuits, and banana pudding, my mouth is already watering.

Barano

Barano was just featured on Eater's Brooklyn Hottest Restaurant list, so I gotta try it! The seasonal menu features upscale pizzas and Italian cuisine.

I haven't really explored Ditmas Park yet (home to Michelle Williams and Victorian mansions), so this is a great excuse to go. This Asian fusion menu includes everything from ramen to Korean breakfast to Vietnamese coffee. It's basically got it all.

If there's one thing Staci and I know, it's good tapas, and this place has it. It might be a little fancier than its Barcelona counterparts, but El Born will definitely fulfill your late night tapas cravings.

I've never had Senegalese food before, so this seems like a good enough time to try it! I'm all about fried plantains and baked fish, not to mention beignets, so I'm pretty excited to check this place out!

Seems like I've got a lot of eating ahead of me over the next week or so. Luckily, it won't be costing that much!
