The Beach: Dogfish Head Brewery

Last week, my friends and I headed to Rehoboth for our annual beach getaway. We left a day earlier than usual so that we could pop into the Dogfish Head Brewery. Weirdly located in the middle of nowhere -- Milton, Delaware, this world-famous brewery hosts daily tours and tastings all for the low-low price of FREE! Since I'd never been before, I figured their 20th anniversary was as good a time as any.

We went as soon as the brewery opened (11 a.m.), but still had to wait until 12:30 to get onto a tour. Normally I'd be annoyed, but a free beer tasting and bocce ball makes everything better.

The tour was really educational and longer than I expected it to be. For beer aficionados, I'm sure it was quite the experience. For me, it was an hour-long break between drinking more delicious beer. There's not much to eat there, but I can definitely vouch for the chicken bratwurst. After a glass of Burton Baton, it hit the spot.

I'd love to go back to the brewery and run the annual Dogfish Dash but they keep selling out so damn fast! I guess running 6 miles and drinking unlimited beer is a popular activity. Maybe next year...
