The Playlist: Tokyo Jamz

If you know me, or if you've been reading this blog for a while, you know that I loathe winter and basically live in fear of the polar vortex. Basically, starting right about now, this is me.

Also I am Chippy. Bring me pizza.

Also I am Chippy. Bring me pizza.

I have found that a great way to combat seasonal depression (besides blankets, pizza, Netflix, & chill) is to plan travel. Ideally right now I'd be planning a trip to somewhere warm and lovely like, I dunno, Miami or St. Tropez. Instead I am currently settling for *thinking* about future travel and pretending the light of my blinding seasonal depression lamp is actually the sun.

Thinking about it has made me a little nostalgic though. Two years ago at this time, Rhi and I were gearing up to go to Japan. And when a song that weirdly sounded Japanese-influenced came on my Discover Weekly Spotify playlist this morning, I felt like I should provide you with some Tokyo-inspired tunes.

Tokyo is really bizarre but in the coolest way possible. On the one hand, you can find the most peaceful Shinto shrines in beautiful nature. On the other, it's an insanely busy mass of humanity that will make your head spin. And I hope that comes across in this Music Monday's Tokyo playlist. Enjoy!
