You may have noticed that over the past year or so, we've been a bit sparser in our posting on here. Partly, this is because I barely got to travel last year. Outside of visiting my boyfriend in Gainesville, my surgeon in NYC, and going to Cape Henlopen (with a side trip to Wawa, always notable) for a weekend, I made zero trips last year thanks to health issues that kept me both underfunded and physically sidelined.
Welp, it's Summer 2018, and I'm back, baby!
While I regret that Scott and I can't go to MICA Camp with Jen this weekend, I am SO stoked to visit Boston. I've never been and I CANNOT wait for it to be Friday. We are visiting our friends Lyndsey and Nick, who visited us for the best staycation weekend I've ever had in Baltimore last summer. Now they're hosting us!
In preparation, Lyndsey sent us the longest list of places to see, eat, drink, and explore. It got me so excited. The weather forecast looks promising (hooray!), and Lyndsey has the coolest activities on deck for us. You know Jen and I are minimalist carry-on packers, but I may have to overpack to make sure I'm prepared for everything we're going to do. Here's what I'm thinking:
First -- necessities. One of the first things Lyndsey's e-mail said was that Boston involves a lot of walking, so we should pack comfy shoes. Check. I also will be packing a hat for sun protection and/or bad hair days (does Boston get as humid as Baltimore and NYC?). A Hydroflask for always-cold water and sunscreen will be clutch for a kayaking foray on the Charles River.
Lyndsey and Nick are both super active. Lyndsey is a yoga instructor, and like me, Nick is training for a marathon, so I am planning on bringing multiple workout outfits (dunno what Scott is going to do while we're all exercising...). Some comfy jeans and a cute top for brunches and other meals, a bathing suit for a trip to the Harbor Islands beach, and a jumpsuit for checking out Boston's bars in the evening.
What are your favorite things to do/see/eat/drink in Boston?
