It seems like just yesterday Jen convinced me to run a half marathon and I noticed some particularly good al fresco spots to dine while on my training route.
But in fact, it was 20-friggin-15.
And as it happens, two of my outdoor dining picks in 2015 are no mas now that it is 2018. So I thought it was time for a little refresh.
This modern American restaurant is literally right next door to me and somehow I have yet to take advantage of the serious patio situation. I have, however, had some great dinners there and an awesome brunch with Jen on one of her visits home. Do NOT miss the fresh-baked flatbread and green hummus.
I somehow hadn't been to Nick's Fish House until last summer, and holy shit, I was missing out. This place makes me so happy. It's like being on vacation even though it's only about 10 minutes away from my apartment in the city. The crabs are top-notch, and the crush selection is numerous. What more could you ask for in a perfect summer spot?
From the street, Lee's looks like any other neighborhood corner spot, but when the weather is nice, they open the floor-to-ceiling windows and line up tables around the outside. The seafood is on point, and every day they have 50-cent oysters for happy hour.
OK, yes, I'm giving two shoutouts to Mexican joints in Fells Point, but both are THAT good and the outdoor vibes are different. Rather than a waterfront spot, Papi's has a cozy hidden patio. I LOVE a good patio. Almost as much as I love frozen sangria margaritas.
Which are your favorite al fresco spots in Charm City?
