As you know, tomorrow I'll be heading upstate to a wedding in the mid-Hudson Valley region. Last year I went to a wedding in a similar location and had the chance to finally see Dia:Beacon. This time around, I'll be forgoing the art in favor of the outdoors and drinking. If you find yourself in the area and are looking for things to do, here are a few suggestions:
This award-winning distillery and restaurant located in a former flour mill (hence the name) has everything from a visitor center with local crafts to a small waterfall in front.
If you're not afraid of heights, check out the walkway on this 1889 railroad bridge. Until recently, it was the longest footbridge in THE WORLD! It connects the Dutchess Rail Trail on the Poughkeepsie side and the Hudson Valley Rail Trail on the Highland side if you want to add more to your walk.
