Everyone knows that not all Airbnbs are created equal and that each city offers up something completely different. But since we're on a ratings system kick, let's compare Montreal versus Quebec City anyway! Since both studios were nearly the same square footage and price, I think it's pretty fair.
Pros: Host was there to let us check in early and gave us tons of local tips.
Cons: Nondescript brick building with no elevator.
Pros: Adorable hidden garden with private entrance.
Cons: SO. MUCH. FABREZE. Also, it was like a 10-minute scavenger hunt to find the lock box containing the keys.
Winner: Quebec City. You can't beat that garden.
Pros: The artwork
Cons: The artwork
Pros: Two separate sleeping areas
Cons: The were both uncomfortable. One was a thin murphy bed that I kept banging my shin into and the other was a lofted bed with no headspace resulting in Staci banging her head on the ceiling.
Winner: Montreal. Bear FTW.
Pros: Tons of room. Both of us could comfortably sit on the couch together and there was plenty of room for our suitcases to spread out.
Cons: When you have to clarify that the rug isn't human skin.
Pros: Beautifully decorated and very functional considering the layout.
Cons: Couch was too small for two people and our suitcases had little room.
Winner: Montreal. I'll take space over decor.
Pros: This view was at the end of our block. Directly next to the Chateau Frontenac.
Cons: Living on top of a giant hill with a broken funicular is THE WORST.
Winner: Quebec City. At least our butts looked good after the trip.
Overall Winner: Quebec City
Maybe it was because we had a better time overall in QC, but this Airbnb stunned from the moment we arrived. It also gets bonus points for having a full length mirror (perfect for our "elevator selfies") and for hosting our impromptu wine and cheese happy hour.
