OK, so maybe your neighborhood isn't doing Halloween on steroids the way mine is right now. (Seriously, where do these people find the time...and storage!)
But that doesn't mean you can't still get into the spirit with some ghoulish events around town! Here are a few great events happening around NYC to celebrate
my birthday Halloween.
You don't have to go all the way to bumfuck Pennsylvania to get your hayride on! You can take the subway (OK, also a bus)!
Where: Randall’s, 20 Island Park, Randall's Island
When: Thursday, Oct. 27 to Monday, Oct. 31 from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Bummed that your favorite new Netflix binge is over? Get your fix with this "Stranger Things"-themed bash featuring music from the 80s!
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw St., Gowanus
When: Friday, Oct. 28, 10:30 p.m.
Someone once described this Gowanus dance party as feeling like it would be on an episode of "GIRLS." So if you're into that, this one might be for you!
Where: Gowanus Studio Space, 166 Seventh St., Gowanus
When: Saturday, Oct. 29, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
It's part masquerade party, part haunted house (via transformed hotel), part musical journey. While roaming through different musical spaces, guests immerse themselves in theatrical experiences. Sounds kind of awesome!
Where: Paper Factory Hotel, 37-06 36th Street, Queens, NY 11101
When: Friday, Oct. 28, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
This party in a museum sure to be amazing. There are like 500 DJs, a major costume contest, and even an afterparty.
Where: MoMA PS1, 22-25 Jackson Ave., Long Island City
When: Saturday, Oct. 29, 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
If all else fails, you can always check out the massively popular (but worth it) Halloween Parade in the village. I'm opting for the quieter and more kid-friendly version in my neighborhood because frankly I'm tired of this. Also I'm lazy and don't want to leave Brooklyn.
Where: 6th Ave from Spring to 16th streets
When: Monday, Oct. 31 from 7 to 10:30 p.m.
