Jen's cousin Max just set off for a semester abroad in Barcelona, and it got me thinking about my own semester abroad in Florence. Deciding to spend four months in Italy was easily one of the best decisions I've made in my entire life, and I'd strongly recommend studying abroad to anyone. Florence is special too; all of the Italian cities I visited had their own distinct characters, and Florence's suited me. The ancient architecture was enchanting (for lack of a better word), the city houses some of the greatest art in history (including Michelangelo's David), and Tuscan food is pretty much unbeatable. Although it's not my home, I still get homesick thinking about it, and below you'll see why.
