Sometimes for day trips, you need more than one outfit. In my case, I'll be going for a bike ride and a short run before hanging out with friends on a boat. I always find it tricky to transition from workout gear to "every day" clothes without changing into an entirely new outfit, but with a bit of planning it can be done!
To stay cool, I love breezy, light colored clothes for summer workouts. Keeping the palette neutral makes for easier layering later in the day. A baseball cap and big sunglasses should cover my sweat-drenched head nicely, and (hopefully) make me look somewhat put together. Since I know I'll get chilly on the boat, I'm packing a lightweight pullover and a towel (for lounging) inside a vintage-inspired knapsack. And, of course, I'm packing the highest SPF sunscreen I can find because this lady and the sun don't mix.
